Various Food Trucks, Convenient Concession Stands, and Food Markets Prepared
Gyeonggi Yangju City (Mayor Kang Su-hyun) announced on the 26th that the 12th Yangju Snow Flower Festival, a representative winter cultural and arts festival in the northern Gyeonggi region, will open on the 27th.
Celebrating its 12th year, the Yangju Snow Flower Festival is scheduled to be held from the 27th of this month until February 9th next year around the pristine natural area of Songchu Art Valley in the city. It is set up as a place of snow and art where visitors can enjoy exciting snow sledding programs and various sculpture works.
Jangheung Natural Recreation Forest is conveniently accessible, just about an hour from Gwanghwamun in Seoul, making it perfect for weekends with family and friends.
In particular, the clean snow made from the pure natural water of Songchu Valley allows families with children to enjoy the festival with peace of mind.
The ‘Juljuli Snow Sledding’ slope, the longest in the metropolitan area at 200 meters, is a pride of the Yangju Snow Flower Festival. It is a popular adventure ride that can accommodate up to 10 people simultaneously and is uniquely available only here, making it even more special.
Additionally, there are ‘Snow Flower Sleds’ and ‘Sleds exclusively for toddlers’ for children, making it an ideal winter outing for the whole family.
The sledding lift facility, which automatically carries sleds, is fully equipped so visitors can safely and comfortably enjoy the fun of sledding. Also, the ‘Snow Mountain,’ where visitors can enjoy snow play with play shovels and appreciate over 500 various outdoor sculptures installed throughout the festival site, is an artistic experience not to be missed.
Furthermore, a gourmet area to enjoy alongside the festival is also open.
Visitors can enjoy more than 20 different menu items from various food trucks, convenient snack bars, and food markets, allowing for a light and easy visit.
Meanwhile, as the city has surpassed a cumulative total of 500,000 visitors up to last year, it is known that convenience facilities have been significantly improved to ensure that visitors can fully enjoy the festival amid the large crowds.
To accommodate the increasing number of visitors each year, parking spaces have been greatly expanded, and thanks to the newly organized Yangju Bus No. 37, which goes directly to the festival site, public transportation accessibility has also improved.
The entrance fee for the snow sledding area is 15,000 KRW on weekdays and 18,000 KRW on weekends for both children and adults. Discounts are offered to Yangju citizens, groups of 20 or more, and persons with disabilities.
The operating hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, and further details can be found on the ‘Yangju Snow Flower Festival website.’
