Jeonju to Hold 'Year-End Festival' at Nosong Square on the 31st

Performances by Lee Sang Band, Lyn, and More with Local Residents
Wishing for 2036 Summer Olympics Bid and New Year Resolutions

Jeonju City in North Jeolla Province announced on the 26th that it will hold the '2024 Jeonju New Year's Eve Festival' at Nosong Square in front of City Hall at 8 p.m. on the 31st.


This year's New Year's Eve Festival will begin with performances that local artists and citizens can enjoy together. Specifically, performances by local artists and groups will excite citizens awaiting the new year, and Gijeopnori, an intangible cultural heritage representing North Jeolla, will also be showcased.


The cultural performances will include: ▲ the leading Joseon-pop band 'Isang Band' ▲ Jeonju Municipal Gugak Orchestra ▲ percussion performance group 'Aquee' ▲ '063 Company' and 'Johnny Company', who participated in 'Jeonju Hanok Village Sing Street' ▲ and a Hwaganmu performance by 'Saengdonggam Crew', who will present a spectacular media show.

A congratulatory performance by singer Lyn is also scheduled.


Side events include: ▲ writing a 'slow mailbox postcard' to be delivered to a loved one a year later ▲ making New Year's wishes and experiencing traditional games ▲ and photo booths and photo zones to capture memories of the last night of 2024.


In particular, to bid farewell to a turbulent year and welcome the new one together, there will be a New Year's countdown, along with ▲ a drum-beating event ▲ fireworks to wish for North Jeolla's bid for the 2036 Summer Olympics and to announce the arrival of 2025.


Mayor Woo Beomgi said, "I hope this New Year's Eve Festival, which looks back on the year 2024 that we have run through together with citizens and welcomes the Eulsanyeon of 2025, will be an enjoyable and meaningful time for many citizens," adding, "In the new year of 2025, we will work even harder to strengthen the fields of culture, economy, and welfare to build a stronger economic Jeonju."
