Sacheon-si Selected as an Excellent Local Government in the '2024 Committee Maintenance Performance Evaluation'

Ministry of the Interior and Safety Secures Special Grant of 120 Million Won

Sacheon City in Gyeongnam announced on the 26th that it was selected as an excellent local government in the ‘2024 Committee Reorganization Performance Evaluation’ conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, securing a special grant of 120 million won.

The Ministry of the Interior and Safety evaluated the 2024 performance and status of committees that were similar or duplicated, or had poor activity performance, targeting 17 metropolitan and provincial governments and 226 basic local governments nationwide. Fourteen local governments were selected as excellent cities and counties.

As one of this year’s work innovation tasks, the city established a ‘Committee Reorganization Plan’ and conducted a comprehensive survey to reorganize nine committees with poor performance or inefficiency.

In addition, the city refrains from establishing ineffective committees and manages the status of committees monthly to improve the gender equality appointment ratio of committee members.

Mayor Park Dongsik said, “I am pleased to receive the special grant by properly reorganizing committees to build a flexible and efficient government system among the 120 national tasks, which can help the city’s finances,” and added, “We will create efficient Sacheon City administration by operating committees in which citizens actively participate.”
