KT has designated the period until January 2nd next year as the network intensive management period and deployed about 1,000 network experts to major communication centers. A 24-hour comprehensive control room is operated centered on the Gwacheon Network Control Center to continuously monitor any abnormalities in wired and wireless communication services.

In particular, KT selected more than 200 locations nationwide, including bell-ringing ceremonies, sunrise viewing spots, downtown areas, and department stores where crowds gather during the year-end and New Year period, as network intensive management areas. Base station expansions and quality inspections have also been completed in these areas.

KT plans to prepare for cyberattacks such as spam and phishing, which increase during the year-end and New Year period, including 'New Year's greetings' and 'parcel delivery' related messages.

KT especially emphasized the use of the 'AI Spam Reception Blocking Service.' Previously, humans analyzed messages and updated the database, but this service automatically identifies and removes spam messages accurately through the system. Any KT user can use this service for free.

KT has also developed a specialized artificial intelligence (AI) model for analyzing malicious files called the 'AI DDoS Scanner' to prepare for DDoS attacks on the communication network and has installed it at the Gwacheon Security Operation Center. It analyzes files running in Internet of Things (IoT) device environments within 10 minutes based on deep learning. If a file is judged to be malicious, the distributor is blocked, and the AI periodically learns from the analyzed malicious files. Based on this model, KT switched to a DDoS preemptive prevention system starting last month.

O Taek-gyun, Executive Director of KT's Network Operation Innovation Headquarters, said, "We will do our utmost to provide stable communication services."
