President Lee Sang-in appointed as General Manager of Cosmax China
Expansion and reorganization of research teams with global competitiveness
Cosmax Group conducted its regular executive personnel reshuffle for 2025 on the 26th. This reshuffle includes a total of 30 people across major group affiliates, including CEO transfers, research and development, production, marketing, and support.

As a key transfer, Lee Sang-in, General Manager (President) of Cosmax Guangzhou, will move to become General Manager of Cosmax China (Shanghai branch). President Lee joined Cosmax in 1996, worked in the marketing headquarters, and has served as General Manager of Cosmax Guangzhou since 2017. He is credited with stabilizing the corporation by securing deals with major Chinese brands such as 'Perfect Diary.'
Yang Chi-yeon, Vice President and Head of Marketing at Cosmax China, will move to become General Manager of Cosmax Guangzhou. Vice President Yang joined Cosmax in 1995, worked in the production headquarters, and has been in charge of marketing at Cosmax China since 2006. He contributed to achieving the highest sales ever for Cosmax China in 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic, playing a key role in expanding Cosmax’s business in China.
Cosmax Group expects President Lee and Vice President Yang to leverage their successful experiences in Guangzhou and Shanghai respectively to discover new opportunities for growth in the Chinese cosmetics market.
Among major promotions, Kim Nam-jung, Executive Director and Head of Marketing at Cosmax, and Kim Seung-min, Executive Director and Head of Management at Cosmax China, were promoted to Vice Presidents. Vice President Kim Nam-jung was also appointed CEO of Cosmax NBT, a health functional food affiliate. He joined Cosmax and has experience across production and sales departments. He enhanced clients’ sales and marketing capabilities and contributed to consecutive record-breaking sales at the Korean corporation.
Vice President Kim Seung-min is a management expert with over 30 years of experience at Samsung Electronics. He joined in 2022 and contributed to improving investment and risk management systems for the China business.
To secure research and technological competitiveness, Cosmax Group confirmed promotions for about 10 people in the Research & Innovation division. Ji Jin-gu, Head of Cosmax CL Lab, who has led cream formulation development, and Kang Byung-ha, Head of Cosmax China Formulation Research Institute, were promoted to Fellow1 (Executive Director level).
The core research organization, Cosmax R&I Center, was also extensively reorganized. The previously combined formulation teams were subdivided, and to strengthen global competitiveness, the existing 18 labs were expanded to 23. New PM Lab and PS Lab were established to enhance mask sheet and pack formulations and expertise in eco-friendly packaging materials, respectively. The Sun Care (SC) Lab was independently expanded to innovate sunscreen products.
Additionally, Lee Jin-il, Division Head of Cosmax BTI WEST Planning Headquarters, and Park Jin-ho, Head of Purchasing at the SCM division, were promoted to Executive Directors. Overseas, Kang Min-gu, Head of Cosmax Thailand, which has been experiencing rapid growth every year, was promoted to Executive Director.
The number of newly appointed female executives was expanded to seven. Among them, three born in the 1980s were appointed as Deputy General Managers to enhance expertise and diversity through swift decision-making and smooth communication within the organization.
In the health functional food division, seven promotions were made. Park Jong-cheol, Head of Production at Cosmax NBT, was promoted to Executive Director, and Kim Jae-hwan, Head of System Planning Team, and Park Il-seo, Head of Marketing Team at Cosmax Bio, were newly appointed executives. This aims to strengthen diverse material development and sustainable business models targeting global health and functional consumers.
A Cosmax Group official stated, "Through this personnel reshuffle, we will accelerate technological innovation and secure future growth engines amid the changing global market environment," adding, "It will be a turning point to solidify our No. 1 position in the global cosmetics ODM market and to develop innovative business models."
