NHN Practices Sharing Activities for Year-End, Including Donating Profits from Secondhand Transactions

On the 26th, NHN announced that as part of its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) campaign, it is hosting a 'Goodbye Market' to support voluntary donations from its employees.

The Goodbye Market was organized to collect donated items from employees and used goods remaining as company inventory, allowing employees to purchase them at affordable prices and also make donations.

This year, about 1,300 employees participated in the Goodbye Market, generating total proceeds of 13.8 million KRW. NHN donated all the proceeds to Hope Bridge, which conducts disaster relief activities, and also contributed to resource circulation by donating leftover items after sales at the Goodbye Market.

During the donation process, NHN formed a Santa expedition team through its in-house volunteer group 'Little Scout,' composed of group company employees. Employees who became Santas delivered gifts and cards they personally packed, including winter clothing, school supplies, and toys, to children vulnerable to disasters.

In addition, NHN is conducting various social contribution activities that leverage its characteristics as an IT company.

Since 2020, NHN has been running 'My Auction,' an event where employees purchase PCs or monitors that have reached the end of their usage cycle through an auction, and all proceeds are donated to the local community. Over the past five years, about 3,400 employees have participated, accumulating donations of 210 million KRW. This year, 1,200 employees participated in My Auction, raising 70 million KRW in proceeds and delivering 1,200 rice bags and Chuseok gift sets to underprivileged neighbors in the Seongnam area.

To foster young IT talent and support the improvement of digital literacy among youth and the elderly, NHN has been continuing the 'Love PC Sharing Campaign' since 2022, donating high-performance PCs to institutions. This year as well, PC sets were delivered to senior job agencies and childcare centers in Seongnam City, practicing community-based social contribution activities.

Furthermore, starting next year, NHN plans to collaborate with the National Information Society Agency (NIA) to donate idle digital devices such as laptops and PCs to overseas regions with underdeveloped IT environments.

Meanwhile, NHN was recognized for its various social contribution activities targeting vulnerable groups within Seongnam City this year and received a Volunteer Merit Award with the rank of Seongnam Mayor at the '2024 Seongnam City Volunteer Day Commemoration Event' hosted by the Seongnam City Volunteer Center.
