Lack of Career Experience Opportunities in Local Schools
Meeting 2,241 Youths Over Four Years Since 2021
LG Electronics employees once again contributed to nurturing future talents this year by providing counseling and hands-on experiences related to careers and career paths to high school students in provincial areas.
LG Electronics announced on the 26th that it successfully completed the '2024 LG Electronics Employee Career Counseling Volunteer Activity.' About 30 employees visited several high schools in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, and Changwon, Gyeongsangnam-do, sharing job experiences and conducting career counseling with 377 students.

Since 2021, LG Electronics has conducted this activity annually to give regional youth with limited career experience opportunities a chance to meet professionals working in the field, obtain vivid information about jobs, and share their concerns. Over the past four years, 213 LG Electronics employees have participated as mentors, and a total of 2,241 students from more than 100 educational institutions nationwide have taken part in this activity.
This year, experts in rapidly advancing fields such as artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and augmented reality participated as mentors. Through small group activities of about 10 students, the students indirectly experienced the research environment of a global company, asked questions, and gained new perspectives on their career paths.
Jang Woo-jae, a student at Hangwang High School who participated as a mentee, said, "I learned detailed information about the AI field, which I have always been interested in," adding, "Thanks to the mentor's advice, I was able to concretely plan my previously vague future goals."
Yoon Dae-sik, Executive Vice President of External Cooperation at LG Electronics, said, "This mentoring program is a network where employees directly meet young people to share knowledge and experiences related to careers," and added, "We will support youth who will lead the future in various ways so that they can realize their dreams."
