Record in just 18 months since launch... 870,000 households using
'First roaming data 4 times' event ongoing
SK Telecom announced on the 26th that its new concept roaming data sharing service, 'Gajok Roaming (Family Roaming),' has surpassed 2 million users.
Gajok Roaming allows up to five family members to share roaming data when one family member subscribes to SKT's roaming plan 'baro' and adds 3,000 KRW. All family members included in the plan can also use baro voice calls and text messages via A. Dot phone for free.
After launching the service in June last year, Gajok Roaming surpassed 1 million users within 11 months and has since exceeded 2 million users in about 7 months.
Since the launch of Gajok Roaming, 870,000 households have used the service, and SKT stated that more than 78% of roaming-using households chose the Gajok Roaming service.
Among the main subscribers of Gajok Roaming, the proportion choosing high-capacity plans of 6GB or more is about 1.6 times higher compared to individual roaming users, and actual data usage is also 1.7 times higher for Gajok Roaming users than individual users.
SKT is currently running a 'First Roaming Data 4x' event starting this month, allowing customers who have not used T Roaming for the past 60 months to use 'baro First Roaming 12GB/24GB' plans at the existing baro 3GB/6GB prices.
Additionally, an event is ongoing until June next year where all customers using the baro plan who make overseas QR payments of 20,000 KRW or more via Naver Pay will immediately receive a 10,000 KRW T Roaming coupon and 10,000 Naver Pay points.
