Record for Most No.1 Titles... First in 69 Years
Ros?'s 'Apartment' Ranks High on Hot 100 for 9 Consecutive Weeks
Group Stray Kids is gaining attention for achieving the record for the most Billboard No. 1s by a K-pop group.
On the latest Billboard chart released on the 24th (local time), Stray Kids' special album 'SKZ's Hiptape - HAP' topped the main album chart 'Billboard 200.' This marks the group's sixth No. 1 on the 'Billboard 200,' tying them with BTS for the most No. 1s by a K-pop group.
What is even more remarkable is that Stray Kids debuted every album that entered the 'Billboard 200' at No. 1, starting from their 2022 mini album 'Oddinary' up to their most recent release. This is the first time in the 69-year history of the Billboard charts that such a feat has been achieved, further proving the global influence of K-pop groups.
BLACKPINK's Ros?, who collaborated with Bruno Mars on the song 'APT.' (Apartment), ranked 22nd on the main singles chart 'Hot 100,' maintaining a top position for nine consecutive weeks. Despite the strong presence of Christmas carols such as Mariah Carey's 'All I Want for Christmas Is You,' the song has shown stable chart performance. Additionally, 'APT.' held the No. 1 spot for nine consecutive weeks on both the 'Billboard Global 200' and 'Global 200 (Excl. US),' proving its worldwide popularity.
BTS's Jimin's solo second album title track 'Who' ranked 47th on the 'Hot 100,' continuing an impressive 22-week streak on the chart. This record demonstrates the long-lasting popularity of K-pop solo artists.
This week on the 'Billboard 200,' multiple K-pop artists recorded stable chart performances. Ros?'s first full-length album 'R' entered the top 30 for the second consecutive week at No. 21, and TWICE's 14th mini album 'Ready to Be' maintained a top 60 position for two weeks at No. 56.
Notably, BTS's Jungkook's solo album 'Golden' re-entered the chart at No. 109, marking its 25th week on the chart overall. Additionally, Jimin's 'Muse' charted for the 22nd consecutive week at No. 136, and ENHYPEN's 'Romance: Untold - Daydream-' recorded its 16th consecutive week on the chart at No. 169, showcasing the strength of K-pop.
This week's No. 1 on the 'Hot 100' was Mariah Carey's 'All I Want for Christmas Is You,' which held the top spot for the 17th week overall. The top 10 of this week's 'Hot 100,' except for Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars' 'Die with a Smile' (6th place), was filled entirely with Christmas carols, clearly demonstrating the dominance of holiday songs during the year-end season.
