The opposition, led by the Democratic Party of Korea, immediately called for the arrest and detention investigation of President Yoon Seok-yeol for his refusal to comply with the second summons from the High-ranking Officials' Crime Investigation Unit (HCIC).

Han Min-su, spokesperson for the Democratic Party, said in a briefing on the 25th, "Yoon Seok-yeol, the ringleader of the rebellion, has once again refused to comply with the HCIC's summons," criticizing, "Having justified the unconstitutional martial law, has he now decided to completely ignore the laws and systems of the Republic of Korea?" He continued, "Does he think that by refusing the investigation and stalling, the charge of rebellion will disappear?" and urged, "If he has any shred of conscience left, he should respond to the investigation immediately."

The spokesperson added, "Repeated summons and delays in investigation only cause public distrust in the HCIC," and said, "Recognize the gravity of the case and proceed immediately with the arrest and detention investigation of the ringleader of the rebellion." Park Ji-won, a five-term senior lawmaker of the Democratic Party, also appeared on the YouTube channel 'Kim Eo-jun's News Factory' and argued, "If President Yoon Seok-yeol does not appear by today, the HCIC should obtain an arrest warrant and detain him."

The Party for National Innovation held press conferences in front of the presidential residence in Hannam-dong and the HCIC office in Gwacheon, stating, "Yoon Seok-yeol, the ringleader of the rebellion, has missed the HCIC's attendance deadline," and demanded, "He must be arrested immediately."

The Party for National Innovation said, "When declaring martial law, he charged forward like a wild boar, but as soon as the rebellion investigation began, he hurried to hide his head like a pheasant," adding, "Only if Yoon Seok-yeol is arrested can we say Merry Christmas."
