Park Ji-won, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, described the proposed constitutional amendment for a cabinet system or the formation of a national unity cabinet, which has been discussed in some political circles, as "a conspiracy to somehow extend President Yoon Seok-yeol's term and allow them to regain power."

On the 25th, Park appeared on the YouTube channel 'Kim Eo-jun's News Factory' and stated, "Those discussing a national unity cabinet even talk about who should be the prime minister, and I have also received such proposals."

He claimed that after the emergency martial law situation, he received an offer to become the prime minister of the national unity cabinet from a close associate of President Yoon but declined. Park said, "I told them, 'Didn't former President Kim Dae-jung refuse the three-party merger? How can you say that to me, who was Kim's chief secretary?' and I slammed the table in the VIP room of the Lotte Hotel in Sogong-dong and left." He speculated, "They probably made such an offer because I strongly advocated the need for constitutional amendment before the emergency martial law situation."

Park reiterated, "Ultimately, it is a conspiracy to extend the term of Yoon Seok-yeol, the leader of the internal rebellion and foreign exchange crisis."

He added, "Even among the Democratic Party members now, there are people who have previously advocated for a four-year two-term system or a national unity cabinet, so their strategy is to bring these people in, move toward a national unity cabinet, and create momentum for constitutional amendment. Our people must keep their eyes wide open and watch carefully to prevent this path," he said. He continued, "The spirit of the times and the public demand now is to urgently arrest Yoon Seok-yeol, the leader of the internal rebellion and foreign exchange crisis, and isolate him from the world," adding, "The Constitutional Court should be composed of nine members, and the impeachment trial should proceed swiftly."
