“Welcome to the Snow Country. An adventure unfolds in the land of snow!”
The ‘Snow (SNOW WEEK)’ program, offering a variety of snow-themed markets and activity experiences on the mysterious island of Ulleungdo, is being operated.
Ulleung County announced on the 25th that, to welcome the winter season, it will hold the ‘Ululala Winter Market,’ where visitors can enjoy the unique winter of Ulleungdo against the backdrop of a snowy sea, and the winter activity ‘Ululala Snow Country Adventure’ in the mountains.
The Ululala Winter Market runs every Friday and Saturday from December 20 to February 15, 2025, at Dodong Small Park, featuring a flea market & food booths, Ululala Karaoke, Saturday Theater, and other programs for tourists visiting Ulleungdo in winter to enjoy the snow-covered mountains and sea.
On Christmas Day, December 25, there will be a carol busking performance, and on December 31, a special performance by singer Han Kyung-il to bid farewell to the year.
The Ululala Snow Country Adventure offers winter leisure activities in Ulleungdo’s snowy mountains, including alpine skiing and snow mountain hiking.
Alpine skiing will be operated three times from January 29 to March 3 next year by ‘Team Max Adventure,’ a global outdoor activity operator.
With cooperation from the Korea Alpine Ski Association and the Korean Mountaineering Federation, well-known domestic instructors including national alpine ski team member Jeong Jae-won, alpine skiers Ryu Hyung-gon and Min Kyung-tae will participate.
The snow mountain hiking program, ‘OTT (ON THE TRAIL) Winter,’ combining mountain trekking and camping, will be conducted by ‘Better Weekend,’ a specialized hiking program operator.
It will be held from February 21 to 23 next year for about 300 participants, and tickets sold out within 50 seconds after opening on the 19th.
Nam Han-kwon, the governor of Ulleung County, said, “Winter in Ulleungdo has its own mysterious charm, and through the SNOW WEEK program of the K-Tourism Island Development Project, we hope visitors will fully enjoy Ulleungdo’s winter scenery and activities.”
