Seosan City Re-certified as Family-friendly Institution by Ministry of Gender Equality and Family

Seosan City Re-certified as Family-friendly Institution by Ministry of Gender Equality and Family Lee Wanseop, Mayor of Seosan, and related officials celebrated the reacquisition of the Family-Friendly Certification at the mayor's office in the city hall. /Seosan City

Seosan City, Chungnam Province, announced that it has been selected as a "2024 Family-Friendly Certified Institution" by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family.


The city first received this certification in 2013 and has maintained it until this year. With this recertification, Seosan will retain its qualification until 2027.


The family-friendly certification is awarded to companies and public institutions that have exemplary family-friendly policies, following a thorough evaluation process. The program aims to promote the creation of a family-friendly social environment.


Certification is granted based on a document review and on-site inspection, evaluating criteria such as top management leadership, implementation of family-friendly systems, satisfaction with family-friendly management, and records of self-assessment.


The city has supported childbirth and childcare by encouraging maternity and paternity leave, supporting reduced working hours for employees with young children, providing convenience items for pregnant employees, and offering maternity and childbirth gifts and welfare points.


Additionally, Seosan has worked to create a family-friendly organizational culture that balances work and life by supporting family camping, providing staff with access to resort facilities (condominiums), and hosting happy family photo exhibitions, among other family participation initiatives.


Furthermore, the city has implemented psychological support programs for employees and expanded special long-term leave policies to reduce work-related burdens and help employees maintain psychological well-being.


Mayor Lee Wanseop stated, "This recertification is significant because it recognizes Seosan City's exemplary efforts in creating a family-friendly workplace culture. We will continue to select employees based on merit regardless of gender and do our utmost to ensure that our staff can harmoniously balance work and life."
