The Daejeon-myeon Daechi District in Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do is expected to be equipped with apartment-level living convenience facilities through the 'New Village Project'.
Damyang-gun announced on the 24th that the Daechi District in Daejeon-myeon has been selected as a new project site for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's 'New Village' program.
The New Village Project, newly introduced this year, supplies essential living infrastructure such as parking lots and safety and convenience facilities to aging single-family homes and villas, providing apartment-level housing and residential environments. The project also offers benefits such as financial support and eased urban architectural regulations to encourage private sector-led reconstruction.
The project site covers part of Daechi-ri in Daejeon-myeon (approximately 110,473 square meters), an aging low-rise residential area. After National Road No. 24 was expanded to the outskirts of the city, the floating population accessing the Daejeon-myeon area sharply declined, and urban decline has accelerated due to population outflow to large cities and ongoing aging.
With this selection, the county plans to invest a total of 25 billion KRW (including 10 billion KRW in national funding) to establish the 'Muldeul Maintenance Support Center' to support autonomous housing maintenance projects and strengthen infrastructure such as pedestrian and residential safety for housing maintenance and residential environment improvement.
County Governor Lee Byeongno said, "We will do our best to promote the project to improve the residential environment of aging low-rise areas and revitalize the local economy."
