Outstanding Award for Eliminating Educational Blind Spots for Students
Encouragement Award for Simplifying Dreamdreemi Application
Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 24th that it achieved a double victory, winning both the Excellence Award and the Encouragement Award at the Ministry of Education's 2023 Second Half Best Practices in Proactive Administration Contest.
First, the Excellence Award was given to the case titled "Nurturing Hope with an Integrated Support Platform for Students Victimized by Crime through Public-Private-Police Cooperation." This initiative, part of the "Eliminating Blind Spots in Education" project, was highly praised for establishing a "Student Integrated Support Governance" system in which the Office of Education, Gwangju Metropolitan Police Agency, Gwangju City, and Good Neighbors work together to identify, protect, and provide emergency support to students victimized by crime at an early stage.
The Encouragement Award-winning case, "Population Cliff Multi-Child Voucher: Achieving Zero Paperwork and Maximum Satisfaction through Digital Integration," involved the development of a dedicated system to reduce the inconvenience for students and parents eligible for the Kkumdreami support, such as submitting multi-child family relationship certificates.
The Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education has placed in the Ministry of Education's Proactive Administration Best Practices Contest for six consecutive times since the first half of 2022.
Superintendent Lee Jungseon stated, "Our staff have continuously thought and worked hard to eliminate inconveniences for citizens and children, and as a result, we have been recognized with these best practice awards." He added, "We will actively respond to the rapidly changing administrative environment and do our utmost to create an educational environment that satisfies both citizens and students."
