Point Mobile announced on the 24th that it has signed a supply contract worth 5 billion KRW to provide the advanced 5G wireless communication device ‘PM95’ to the Mexican National Police.

Point Mobile Expands Supply of PM95 to Mexico Police Agency

Through this order, Point Mobile plans to supply approximately 8,500 units of the PM95 to the Mexican National Police. Over the past two years, the company has been highly praised for significantly contributing to enhancing product durability and policing administrative operations by supplying the PM85. The PM85 has been certified for a 1.8m concrete drop test and waterproof/dustproof IP67 rating. Building on this, about 1,000 units of the next-generation product PM95, ambitiously launched in March this year, have already been delivered. This additional order follows that initial delivery.

Point Mobile is expanding its defense and disaster safety network business centered on advanced wireless communication devices such as the PM85 and PM95. According to Business Research Insights, the disaster safety network market is estimated to be a massive market worth 140 trillion KRW by 2025, and Point Mobile has stably entered the related market based on the PM85. The company plans to focus on K-defense exports led by the PM95, an upgraded version of the PM85 and a 5G-based product.

Domestic defense companies such as Hanwha Aerospace, Hyundai Rotem, and LIG Nex1 are leading exports of offensive weapon systems. Alongside these advanced offensive weapon systems, the demand for advanced wireless communication devices, which serve as defensive tactical systems for controlling and managing disaster personnel such as military, police, and firefighters, is also increasing. As mutual communication is crucial on the battlefield, the role of advanced wireless communication devices has become more important.

Mexico, which signed the supply contract this time, continues to invest steadily in policing and crime rate response. Accordingly, there was high interest in the PM95, which can comprehensively handle various policing administrative tasks such as investigation information inquiry, emergency calls, live video streaming, location tracking, recording, and ID verification. Orders for the PM95 are expected to expand further starting next year.

A company representative explained, “As the advancement of offensive weapon systems accelerates worldwide, investment in special wireless communication devices capable of maintaining real-time 5G communication is also increasing,” adding that “there will be high demand for the PM95, optimized for durability and 5G communication.”

They continued, “As demand for advanced wireless communication devices in the defense and disaster safety network sectors is increasing, orders related to the 5G-based PM95 are expected to surge from next year,” and added, “Point Mobile will be able to contribute to K-defense exports, moving forward not only in offensive weapon systems but also in defensive tactical weapon systems, marking the successful market entry of the PM95.”
