The Yangpyeong-gun mentoring program, newly established last year to help new public officials adapt smoothly, marked its second session this year. A total of 84 people participated in this activity, including 30 mentors and 54 mentees. In particular, mentors and mentees were matched by the same or similar job series to make the program more practically helpful for their work.

The training course was conducted over four months, starting with pre-mentor training and pairing ceremony in September, followed by three group autonomous activities, and culminating in the final sharing session on the 19th of this month. During the autonomous activity period, groups visited major local tourist attractions, the Jipyeong-ri Battle Memorial Hall, various departments such as towns and townships, and engaged in social activities such as bowling and taking life photo booths, creating diverse memories together.

A new public official who participated in the mentoring program shared at the meeting on the 19th, “Through the mentoring activities, I was able to become closer not only with senior colleagues who have a lot of know-how but also with my peers. I hope to become a good mentor in the future who generously shares my know-how with junior public officials.”

At the final sharing session, Ji Ju-yeon, Deputy Governor of Yangpyeong, said, “It is meaningful that senior public officials with abundant know-how participate in the same training course as new public officials. I thank all senior and junior public officials who participated in this meaningful mentoring program despite their busy work schedules, and I hope that the new public officials who took part in the mentoring program will adapt happily as their seniors wish.”
