Mayor Kang Su-hyun of Yangju City visited the site of the ‘SK Broadband Data Center’ on the morning of the 24th along with Vice Mayor Kim Jeong-min and related senior officials, and presided over an executive meeting.

On this day, Mayor Kang received a report on the progress of the construction of the ‘SK Broadband Data Center’ and regional win-win measures, toured the site including the server room, and exchanged opinions with the officials.
The ‘SK Broadband Data Center,’ being built in Ganap-ri, Gwangjeok-myeon within the jurisdiction, has a total area of approximately 12,322㎡ and is a three-story building. It is known to be the third largest data center operated by SK, having received building approval on June 20 last year, and is scheduled to open in February 2025.
Mayor Kang Su-hyun stated, “With the construction of the data center, there will be employment and production inducement effects such as job creation in the western region of Yangju City, which I believe will help revitalize the local economy.” He added, “Please do your best to operate the center so that there are no concerns from local residents or serious accidents related to the construction and operation of the center.”
