Yoon Seok-yeol's Side: "Difficult to Appear at the Corruption Investigation Office Tomorrow... Impeachment Trial Procedure Takes Priority Over Investigation"

"At a Certain Point and Stage, Yoon Will Make an Official Statement Directly"

Yoon Seok-yeol's Side: "Difficult to Appear at the Corruption Investigation Office Tomorrow... Impeachment Trial Procedure Takes Priority Over Investigation" Yonhap News

Seok Dong-hyun, a lawyer assisting President Yoon Seok-yeol's legal team formation, met with reporters at his office in Seocho-dong, Seoul, and stated, "It will be difficult for him to appear (at the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials) tomorrow."

On the 24th, Lawyer Seok conveyed this position, saying, "As the President mentioned before, since this matter involves the Constitutional Court's methods and procedures and the National Assembly's impeachment, the adjudication process should take precedence." He repeatedly emphasized that undergoing impeachment proceedings takes procedural priority over responding to investigations by law enforcement agencies.

Lawyer Seok stated, "Once the impeachment trial begins, both sides will present their positions and corresponding arguments. These positions should be publicized to allow for evaluation and judgment." He added, "From the perspective of the person under investigation, there are things they want to say, including the overall facts, motives, difficulties, and background related to the issue, which should be addressed in the form of courtroom debate."

When asked why the materials requested by the Constitutional Court have not been submitted, Lawyer Seok replied, "That part is difficult for me to comment on." Regarding whether the President and his legal team will attend the Constitutional Court's first preparatory hearing scheduled for the 27th, he said, "Please wait a few days. He is feeling frustrated," without providing a clear stance.

In response to a reporter's question about whether it is true that it is difficult to recruit lawyers for the President, he said, "That is not the case." Lawyer Seok added, "Initially, we may start with a small, elite team. When the necessary time and stage come, there may be direct statements and positions."
