Withdrawal Only After Cabinet Meeting Resolves Emergency Martial Law Lift
On the 3rd, when the resolution to lift the martial law passed the National Assembly, footage captured by the CCTV at the National Assembly Speaker's official residence showed soldiers mobilizing. There is now a need to investigate the truth regarding the possibility of a second martial law, including the arrest of the Speaker, following the National Assembly's demand to lift martial law.
Kim Min-ki, Secretary General of the National Assembly, stated at a press conference on the 24th, "On the early morning of the 4th, there were allegations reported in the media that about ten armed soldiers mobilized to arrest the Speaker of the National Assembly at the Speaker's official residence. In response, we conducted a thorough review of the CCTV footage installed at the Speaker's residence and confirmed related videos. We urge the Ministry of National Defense to provide a clear explanation regarding the raised suspicions."
Secretary General Kim also revealed footage showing martial law troops walking along the outer wall of the Speaker's residence and withdrawing immediately after the lifting of martial law during the State Council meeting.

He said, "A clear investigation into the circumstances surrounding the arrest of the Speaker and the second martial law is necessary," and asked, "What was the reason for deploying troops to the Speaker's residence, ignoring the National Assembly's demand to lift martial law?"
He continued, "We urge the Ministry of National Defense to clarify whether there was an order to arrest the Speaker, who might have returned to the residence after the resolution to lift martial law, whether there was an intention for a second martial law, and to disclose the identities, command structure, total number of troops deployed to the National Assembly residence, their armament level, and purpose, including the 11 military personnel and 2 men in plain clothes who mobilized to the Speaker's residence."
Secretary General Kim also urged, "We call for a swift and thorough investigation by the investigative authorities regarding the various allegations raised."
