Choi Tae-won, Supreme Court 'Divorce Confirmation Certificate' with Noh So-young "An Act That Betrays Constitutional Duty"

Noh So-young: "Finalized Divorce Before Property Division Is an Act That Betrays Constitutional Duty"

In response to SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won's side requesting the court to confirm the divorce before the division of assets, No So-young, director of Art Center Nabi, strongly criticized it as "part of a consistent attempt to destroy the family from the early stages of the lawsuit."

Chairman Chey's side submitted an application for a certificate confirming the divorce to the Supreme Court's First Division (presiding Justice Seo Kyung-hwan), which is currently reviewing the appeal in the divorce lawsuit. Although they are disputing the division of assets with Director No, they requested the court to certify that the marital relationship has already ended.

In response, Director No's side stated, "If a certificate confirming the divorce is issued before the final judgment on the division of assets and alimony, it would be an act by the judiciary that abandons its constitutional duty to protect marriage and family life."

They further explained, "Chairman Chey's side is invoking the necessity of reporting under the Fair Trade Act related to Director No So-young's younger brother to disguise their unconstitutional intentions, but No Jae-heon, Director No So-young's brother, has been independently managing a corporation since separating from the family in 2004 and has never been incorporated into the affiliates."

They also added that the claim regarding the necessity of reporting under the Fair Trade Act is clearly a statement of false facts. Director No's side said, "We would like to express that we have been continuously suffering severe mental distress due to Chairman Chey's side's above-mentioned ultra-constitutional and illegal behavior, and we strongly demand that Chairman Chey's side cease their attacks against Director No and her family."
