Woori Bank to Develop Future-Oriented 'Integrated IT Center' in Namyangju by 2028

Woori Bank announced on the 23rd that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Namyangju City, Gyeonggi Province, and Korea Land & Housing Corporation (LH) to build Woori Financial Group’s future-oriented integrated IT center, ‘Digital Universe.’

The signing ceremony was attended by Cho Byung-kyu, President of Woori Bank; Joo Kwang-deok, Mayor of Namyangju City; and Jang Hee-cheol, Head of the Namyangju Business Headquarters of Korea Land & Housing Corporation. In November, Namyangju City held a corporate attraction review meeting and selected Woori Bank as the first recommended company for the Wangsuk District.

Digital Universe is Woori Financial Group’s digital finance hub designed to respond to the acceleration of digital transformation technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, cloud, and big data. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2026 with a target completion date in 2028. The facility will include cutting-edge technology and eco-friendly design, housing the group’s IT development and operation facilities, financial research and development (R&D) center, and educational facilities?key strategic IT infrastructure.

Woori Bank plans to build an advanced future-oriented integrated IT center to provide safe and efficient financial services while minimizing energy consumption through eco-friendly design and operation. Cho Byung-kyu, President of Woori Bank, stated, “The signing of this MOU is highly significant as it not only strengthens Woori Financial’s digital finance competitiveness but also marks the starting point of cooperation for mutual growth with Namyangju City.
