Goryeong County (Governor Lee Nam-cheol) announced on the 23rd that Song Yoon-do, a public official, received the Encouragement Award in the Public Official category at the '2024 Gyeongsangbuk-do Investment Attraction Awards' held at the Gyeongbuk Provincial Government Office on the 20th.
Since the establishment of the Investment Attraction Division in October 2022, Goryeong County has attracted companies such as IP Tech, Baekwoon Jiup Co., Ltd., and Eum Co., Ltd. to the Donggoryeong General Industrial Complex, contributing to a total investment amount of 17.9 billion KRW and the creation of 49 jobs. After signing an investment attraction agreement in December 2023 with Korea Midland Power Co. for the construction of an 800 billion KRW eco-friendly clean energy power plant, efforts have been made to carry out administrative procedures, including consultations with related organizations for the inclusion in the 11th Basic Plan for Electricity Supply and Demand.
In particular, as a special policy, Goryeong County actively promoted the establishment of a comprehensive investment attraction plan, the formulation of a basic plan for designation as an Opportunity Development Zone, the attraction of large logistics centers, and tourism industry (hotel) attraction activities. To help small and medium-sized enterprises explore overseas markets, the county also promoted the 2024 Overseas Trade Delegation Dispatch Project, achieving a total consultation amount of 30.7 billion KRW and signing MOUs worth 8.7 billion KRW, earning recognition for these contributions.
The Gyeongsangbuk-do Investment Attraction Awards strictly evaluate and commend investment companies, local governments, and public officials who have contributed to regional economic revitalization through efforts and achievements in investment attraction, job creation performance, and post-management within the region.
