NH Investment & Securities announced on the 23rd that it has signed a business agreement to establish the 'NH Investment & Securities AI Industry-Academia Cooperation Center' with the Graduate School of Data Science at Seoul National University, the Graduate School of Artificial Intelligence at Pohang University of Science and Technology, and the Kim Jaechul AI Graduate School at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST).

The NH Investment & Securities AI Industry-Academia Cooperation Center plans to promote financial AI talent development and financial AI technology research that combines practical experience and academic expertise. The signing ceremony was held on the afternoon of the 20th at NH Investment & Securities headquarters in Yeouido, Yeongdeungpo-gu, with key figures attending including Yoon Byung-woon, CEO of NH Investment & Securities; Lee Jae-jin, Dean of the Graduate School of Data Science at Seoul National University; Seo Young-joo, Dean of the Graduate School of Artificial Intelligence at Pohang University of Science and Technology; and Jung Song, Dean of the Kim Jaechul AI Graduate School at KAIST.
NH Investment & Securities plans to pursue synergy between practical work and academia through competitions, joint industry-academia research, curricula, and internships involving students from the nation’s top AI research and educational institutions. Starting in 2025, the AI Industry-Academia Cooperation Center will conduct various research projects to increase the utilization of AI technology in finance and investment fields. Additionally, it will operate an annual collaborative program called 'N2, GETHER' to consolidate outstanding AI talent and capabilities among participating institutions.
NH Investment & Securities will continue to strengthen cooperation with leading research institutions in data and AI fields to play a key role in leading the digital transformation of the financial industry. CEO Yoon Byung-woon stated, "This agreement marks the establishment of the industry's first AI Industry-Academia Cooperation Center and is an important milestone presenting new possibilities for the financial AI industry. Through continuous collaboration with the nation’s top research institutions, we will provide differentiated value to our customers and lead innovation in the financial investment sector."
The Graduate School of Data Science at Seoul National University expressed expectations that AI research based on financial data will open new horizons. The Graduate School of Artificial Intelligence at Pohang University of Science and Technology emphasized that cooperation among research institutions can contribute to innovation in financial services. The Kim Jaechul AI Graduate School at KAIST stated that through this agreement, it will strive to expand the use cases of AI technology in the financial sector.
