On this day, about 100 people including Mayor Bang Se-hwan, various dignitaries, and Gwangju citizens attended the event.
The Gwangju City Love Connection Campaign is a special event hosted by the Gyeonggi-do Physical Disability Welfare Association Gwangju Branch, aimed at discovering students in need of various support, including disabled students, and connecting them with mentors as an act of love.
In particular, this year’s theme was “A Shoulder to Lean On,” emphasizing the precious meeting where mentors and mentees become each other’s shoulder to lean on, just as a calf needs a shoulder to lean on when its horns start to grow.
Moon Jong-seok, head of the Gyeonggi-do Physical Disability Welfare Association Gwangju Branch, said, “We hope that the Love Connection Campaign will continue to develop every year and provide more opportunities for students and mentors to connect based on trust and love,” and added, “We ask for the continued interest of all citizens.”
Mayor Bang Se-hwan said, “Gwangju City will continue to work hard to be a shoulder to lean on for Gwangju citizens,” and added, “As the year ends, I sincerely thank everyone who always does their best in the field of welfare for the disabled.”
