Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that from January 8 to February 21, winter vacation special lectures for elementary school students will be held at Geumcheon Science Cube, offering programs such as 'Coding School,' 'Science Toy Inventor,' and 'Geumcheon Scientific Investigation Team.'

The district prepared these special lectures to spark interest in the 4th Industrial Revolution among elementary students and provide opportunities to explore career paths. The lectures are conducted through story-based and hands-on courses based on elementary school science classes.

At 'Coding School,' five programs will run from January 14 to February 14. For grades 1 to 3, programs include autonomous driving coding and driving practice using the educational tool 'Altino Light,' game planning using block coding language, and learning the structure and flight principles of drones followed by piloting practice.

For grades 4 to 6, classes cover an overview of artificial intelligence, constructing deep learning algorithms, learning drone principles and piloting methods, and creating personalized videos through drone aerial photography.

In the 'Science Toy Inventor' program, students in grades 1 to 3 explore the scientific principles hidden in everyday toys and create their own toys such as slime and electric bracelets.

The 'Geumcheon Scientific Investigation Team' program is open to both lower and upper elementary students. Through experiments connecting scientific principles and investigative techniques such as fingerprint collection and bloodstain reactions, students solve cases by identifying the culprit. Realistic crime scenes and costumes will be implemented to enhance students' immersion.

Detailed schedules for each program can be found in promotional materials and the application page. All programs are free of charge.

Elementary students in Geumcheon-gu interested in the programs can apply on a first-come, first-served basis by accessing the QR code on the promotional materials or visiting the Geumcheon-gu Office website under 'Integrated Reservation' - 'Education/Lectures' - 'Geumcheon Science Cube.'

Mayor Yu Seong-hoon of Geumcheon-gu stated, "I hope the Geumcheon Science Cube winter vacation special lectures will provide elementary students with an opportunity to develop interest in the 4th Industrial Revolution and enjoy learning science." He added, "We will continue to prepare various science education programs to help young people grow into creative talents."
