Jaurim Reacts Strongly to News of Solo Tokyo Concert Next Year
Jaurim's Kim Yoon-ah is set to hold a solo concert in Tokyo next February, amid which former National Assembly member Jeon Yeo-ok targeted her.
On the 20th, former lawmaker Jeon Yeo-ok posted a blog entry titled "Fukuyoon-ah, going to Japan to sing Japanese songs too?" In this post, Jeon shared a screenshot of a message Kim Yoon-ah posted on her social media last fall, saying, "Kim Yoon-ah, Fukuyoon-ah is having a concert in Japan. I vividly remember last fall when she posted this on SNS."
At that time, Kim Yoon-ah wrote, "For several days, I have been engulfed in anger. The dystopia of the movie 'Blade Runner' plus 4 years is beginning to become reality. The radioactive rain does not stop, and the movie-like LA scenery without light. On a day like today, I think about hell." This was a metaphor for the discharge of contaminated water from Fukushima, Japan. Kim Yoon-ah actively expressed her opposition to the discharge of contaminated water. When the controversy grew, she explained through her agency that it was an expression of concern and regret about environmental pollution.
Former lawmaker Jeon fired a direct shot, saying, "Shouldn't they rename the group from Jaurim to Bangsarim and then go to Japan?" and "After groaning while eating sushi and ramen, now holding a sushi knife and feeling thrilled?" She sarcastically added, "Will she also flaunt her Japanese skills at the Japanese concert?" She even posted a video of Kim Yoon-ah singing an enka song from the movie 'The Man from That Time,' asking, "Will she sing the enka she performed in 'That Man' movie?" Finally, Jeon concluded with a sharp remark, "In the end, it's about making money even if it means going to hell."

Meanwhile, prior to former lawmaker Jeon, Jung Yoo-ra, daughter of Choi Seo-won (formerly Choi Soon-sil), also targeted Kim Yoon-ah on the 18th, saying, "Kim Yoon-ah unnie who went to her hometown for a concert, calling Japan hell." Jung mocked, "A tough woman who goes to Japan, eats sushi, and curses Fukushima," adding, "People have to live with such contradictory words, I respect her. She's cool, seriously." She also said, "Because of her, I really started to doubt if Japanese sushi is really problematic for the first time," and "As expected, she is a true patriot who sacrifices herself to remind us of the dangers of contaminated water."
Jung posted a photo of Kim Yoon-ah visiting a sushi restaurant in Osaka on a travel variety show and lamented, "Her husband is a dentist, but after eating mackerel sushi, his taste went bad," and "I lived in Japan once 10 years ago and only went there once, so I get called a pro-Japanese, but Yoon-ah unnie, who lives like this, is called a patriot. What is this?"
Meanwhile, Jaurim will hold their first solo concert in Shibuya, Tokyo, on February 1-2 next year, marking their 27th anniversary since debut.
