General Account: 1.337 Trillion Won, Special Account: 7.9 Billion Won
Focus on Livelihood Economy, Social Welfare, and Natural Disaster Management
Gwangju's Buk-gu District has finalized its 2025 budget plan at 1.0416 trillion won.
The district announced on the 22nd that it has set next year's main budget at 1.0416 trillion won, an increase of 6.24% (61.2 billion won) compared to this year's budget.
The 2025 budget consists of 1.0337 trillion won in the general account and 7.9 billion won in the special account, and was confirmed on the 20th after approval by the Buk-gu Council.
By sector, the livelihood economy includes 1.21 billion won for local love gift certificates for stabilizing livelihoods, 1.25 billion won for the creation of a local e-commerce small business Licon Town, 640 million won in financial support for small businesses, and 240 million won for the management of Bonchon and Cheomdan industrial complexes.
For the community sector, 2.54 billion won will be invested in the installation of rainwater retention facilities in the area around Munheung-dong Catholic Church, 3 billion won for retention facilities near the Buk-gu Office intersection, 750 million won for improvements to the Cheomdan District natural disaster risk area, and 800 million won for maintenance of steep slope collapse risk zones.
In the social welfare sector, 92.5 billion won is allocated for livelihood benefits, 46 billion won for support of activity benefits for people with disabilities, 37.4 billion won for senior job creation and social activity support, 8.1 billion won for childcare support, and 930 million won for the establishment of a smart care complex in permanent rental apartments.
Other allocations include 1.75 billion won for the construction of community centers in Yongbong-dong and Ochi 1-dong, 1.23 billion won for renewable energy convergence, 890 million won for the creation of a public parking lot in Munhwa-dong, 770 million won for expanding vehicles for household waste collection and transportation, 250 million won for the establishment of the Ilgok Living Culture Center, and 100 million won for youth cafe operations.
District Mayor Moon In stated, "Now that next year's budget has been finalized, we will ensure that our district's finances are swiftly allocated to various areas of residents' livelihoods from the beginning of the year, so that the effects of expansionary fiscal policies can be felt early on."
