Certified for Efforts to Overcome the Chasm through Cost Reduction and Organizational Culture Enhancement

Efforts by the EcoPro Group family companies to reduce costs and enhance organizational culture are being recognized externally as achievements.


According to the industry on the 22nd, EcoPro EM, a manufacturer of NCA (Nickel-Cobalt-Aluminum) cathode materials, was recently certified as an excellent company under the Voluntary Energy Efficiency Target System at the 'Energy Efficiency Target System Excellent Company Certification Ceremony' hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea Energy Agency.


The Voluntary Energy Efficiency Target System, operated by the Korea Energy Agency since 2021, is a system where workplaces voluntarily set and achieve energy efficiency improvement goals. EcoPro EM joined the energy efficiency target system in March last year.


EcoPro EM improved the operation method of power facilities by sharing excess air remaining after operating compressors within the plant through piping to other plants. Additionally, it was highly recognized for achieving an annual energy cost saving of 1.7 billion KRW last year by recycling exhaust waste heat discarded from the calciner, a core facility for cathode material production, and reusing compressor cooling water to supply boiler hot water heat sources.


EcoPro Materials, responsible for precursor production, was selected as an excellent company for work-life balance in the '1st 2024 Korea Work-Life Balance Excellent Company' hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.


The selection of excellent companies for work-life balance is made through a comprehensive evaluation of flexible work systems, working hours management, activation of annual leave, support for work and childcare balance, and improvements in working methods and culture.

EcoPro Materials activated flexible work by introducing staggered commuting hours and changed the operating workers' shift system from three teams with two shifts to four teams with two shifts to induce a reduction in working hours. In addition, it was recognized for enhancing employee welfare by introducing a plus leave system that grants an additional three days of paid leave when employees use 100% of their personal annual leave.


EcoPro Innovation, responsible for lithium compound manufacturing and processing, received health-friendly company certification in the '2024 Health-Friendly Company Certification Project' hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.


The health-friendly company certification project is a system that certifies companies that exemplarily operate health-friendly systems by creating a health-friendly culture and environment in the workplace.


EcoPro Innovation was recognized for its continuous efforts since 2021 to establish a health-friendly culture. Notably, it has encouraged employees to quit smoking and promoted health management programs (such as reducing body fat and increasing muscle mass), operated an in-house health club, and participated in group marathons to improve employee health.

Park Seokhoe, CEO of EcoPro CNG, which is in charge of the battery recycling business, was selected as a meritorious person for resource circulation policy promotion in Gyeongsangbuk-do and received a commendation from the Governor of Gyeongsangbuk-do.


CEO Park was recognized as a leading secondary battery recycling company representative in Gyeongsangbuk-do with distinct achievements in resource circulation fields such as waste treatment and recycling, which are essential for environmental preservation in response to the climate crisis.


An EcoPro official said, "Despite difficult internal and external environments, our efforts to improve the working environment of executives and employees and eliminate unnecessary waste have been recognized externally. We will encourage these efforts at the group level to continue achieving excellent company results next year."
