Yemen Houthi Rebels "Missile Attack on Central Israel"
On the 21st (local time), a missile launched from Yemen struck the Tel Aviv area, the de facto capital of Israel, injuring about 10 residents with minor injuries, the Israeli military said.
According to the American daily The New York Times (NYT) and AFP news agency, the Israeli military stated in a Telegram post that a missile launched from Yemen fell in the Jaffa area of Tel Aviv, causing several residents to sustain minor injuries and evacuate for treatment.
According to Magen David Adom (MDA), Israel's emergency medical service, 16 residents were lightly injured.
Subsequently, Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthi rebels claimed responsibility for the missile attack on central Israel on the same day.
The attack occurred two days after Israel conducted airstrikes on Houthi bases in western Yemen on the 19th.
The Israeli military said that prior to the airstrikes, one missile launched from Yemen toward Israeli territory was intercepted by Israel's air defense system.
