Chairman Shin Dong-hwa: "We Will Create a Trustworthy and Honest Guri City Council for Citizens"
The Guri City Council of Gyeonggi Province (Chairman Shin Dong-hwa) announced on the 20th that it achieved a comprehensive integrity rating of Grade 2 for the second consecutive year in the '2024 Local Council Comprehensive Integrity Evaluation' conducted by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission.
The Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission evaluates the comprehensive integrity of public institutions such as central administrative agencies, local governments, and education offices annually, and this year evaluated 716 institutions.
The comprehensive integrity score is calculated by adding the scores of 'Integrity Perception,' which measures corruption awareness and experience, and 'Integrity Effort,' which reflects anti-corruption initiatives and achievements, then deducting points (up to 10%) for 'Corruption Status' to determine the overall grade (from Grade 1 to 5).
In this evaluation, the Guri City Council received particularly high scores in the 'Integrity Effort' category, which measures efforts to create an honest and transparent council through policies such as integrity practice pledges and declarations, anti-corruption education, and inspection of the operation status of the conflict of interest prevention system.
Chairman Shin Dong-hwa said, “Thanks to the dedicated efforts of my fellow council members and staff over the past year, we were able to achieve a comprehensive integrity rating of Grade 2 for two consecutive years. Integrity is the fundamental value of public institutions, and we will address any shortcomings and reduce excesses from this evaluation to build a ‘Clean Guri City Council’ trusted by citizens.”
