Yangju-si Selected as an Excellent Institution in 'Waterworks Performance Evaluation'... Achieves 'Double Crown'

Gyeonggi Yangju City (Mayor Kang Su-hyun) announced on the 20th that it was selected as an excellent institution in the recent ‘Waterworks Performance Evaluation’ hosted by Gyeonggi Province on the 12th.

Gyeonggi Province conducts performance evaluations in six areas, including waterworks management, waterworks operation, and major policy implementation achievements, targeting 31 cities and counties in the province, selecting a total of six cities and counties as excellent institutions.

Yangju City explained that this selection is the result of efforts to provide clean and safe tap water in Yangju, such as the local waterworks modernization project and the promotion of water supply in vulnerable areas.

In particular, on the 12th, Yangju City was selected as the overall first place in Group Ⅴ (entirely supplied by metropolitan waterworks) consisting of 32 local governments in the recent ‘2024 General Waterworks Operation Management Evaluation’ hosted by the Ministry of Environment, receiving a certificate of commendation from the Minister of Environment and a prize of 10 million won.

Mayor Kang Su-hyun of Yangju City said, “Tap water is directly related to the health of citizens,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to increase citizens’ trust and supply high-quality tap water through the provision of clean and safe tap water.”
