Conference on Sharing Collaboration Outcomes Between Research Institutes and Companies Held on the 20th
On the 20th, Yangsan City in Gyeongnam held the ‘2024 Yangsan City R&BD Institution Performance Sharing Conference’ at the Yangsan Business Center, sharing innovative achievements of research institutions leading regional industrial technology innovation and cases of corporate support, while building networks between R&BD institutions and companies.
With about 100 attendees including Mayor Na Dong-yeon, Vice Chairman of the City Council Choi Seon-ho, Chairman of the Yangsan Chamber of Commerce Park Chang-hyun, Chairman of the Citizens Integration Committee Park Won-hyun, R&BD institution officials, and businesspeople, the conference introduced Yangsan City’s representative industrial technology innovation project from 2024 to 2028, the ‘Ultra-gap Technology Development and Demonstration Project for Aerospace and Defense Sealant Materials,’ and shared major achievements made by leading local R&BD institutions.
Performance sharing by institution was conducted sequentially through presentations by the regional branches of Gyeongnam Technopark, Korea Research Institute of Ships and Ocean Engineering, Korea Photonics Technology Institute, and Korea Testing & Research Institute, focusing on successful collaboration cases between R&BD institutions and local companies such as mobility production support using reused batteries, development of equipment used in ships and offshore, sensing technology support based on optical fiber sensors, and testing and certification support for manufactured products.
One side of the venue displayed achievements born from the efforts of companies and R&BD institutions, allowing attendees to tangibly feel the positive impact of local R&BD institutions’ activities on businesses. It also served as a place to promote the visible results of Yangsan City’s industrial promotion policies and corporate support investments.
The city plans to regularize the Yangsan City R&BD Institution Performance Sharing Conference, held for the first time this year, expecting it to be highly effective in promoting the city’s industrial promotion policies and encouraging active participation from companies by sharing past achievements.
Mayor Na Dong-yeon, who attended the conference, said, “This year, we participated in various national public projects to foster local industries and achieved successful results. Although investments in infrastructure and corporate support policies for industrial promotion may not show immediate results, as demonstrated by today’s performance cases, they will surely lead to industrial development and corporate growth.”
