Polyphenol Factory announced that it received the Minister of SMEs and Startups Award at the ‘2024 Startup Incubation Competitiveness Enhancement Project Performance Sharing Meeting’ held at the Daejeon Intercity Hotel on the 20th.
The performance sharing meeting was hosted by the Daejeon Job and Economy Promotion Agency and the Daejeon Startup Incubation Council to share the achievements and best practices of startup incubation in the Daejeon region and to promote the activation of the startup ecosystem. Companies and experts who contributed to the revitalization of regional startups were recognized for their achievements.
Polyphenol Factory, a KAIST faculty startup, commercialized the innovative polyphenol-based hair loss shampoo ‘Gravity’ and received the top award, the Minister of SMEs and Startups Award.
Professor Lee Hae-shin, Chair Professor of Chemistry at KAIST and founder of Polyphenol Factory, is a world-renowned scholar who has devoted over 20 years to researching ‘polyphenols.’ Through the development of innovative products utilizing nature-derived technology, he has set new standards in the global K-beauty market. Together with his research team, he has demonstrated research and development capabilities by filing over 10 technology patents based on original new material development and research achievements.
The hair loss and thinning improvement shampoo ‘Gravity,’ launched in April this year, has received explosive responses in domestic and international markets. It is recording rapid growth based on excellent technology and marketability.
