Mokpo National University Department of Urban and Regional Development '2024 Achievement Exhibition'

Showcasing Results Produced Over One Year: Panels, Models, Data, and More

The Department of Urban and Regional Development at Mokpo National University (President: Song Hacheol) announced on the 20th that it held the "2024 Achievement Exhibition" at the Museum Gallery Myum on the 19th.


This exhibition showcased panels, models, data, and other achievements produced over a year of specialized curriculum aimed at strengthening the department's four core competencies: urban planning, urban design, urban development, and regional development. The event not only aimed to enhance the capabilities of students majoring in urban and regional development but also highlighted urban and regional issues and opportunities, serving as a program to contribute to regional revitalization.

The exhibition featured works created in ten design-related courses, including practical district unit planning classes. At the opening ceremony, attendees included President Song Hacheol, Choi Jongmyung, Dean of the College of Engineering, Lim Jooseon, Director of Jeonnam Development Corporation, Park Jungwook, Executive Director of Dongmyung Engineering Corporation, Professors Emeritus Park Jongcheol and Lee Junghwa, as well as students from the department.


President Song Hacheol stated, "Urban planning and regional development are not merely about designing spaces, but about creating the foundations where people live and nurture their dreams. Your works are not just outcomes, but starting points filled with vision and passion for the future of the community and the city. I hope today's experience becomes a valuable stepping stone toward the greater future you envision."


The 2024 Urban and Regional Development Department Achievement Exhibition will be open until 2 p.m. on the 20th, and similar exhibitions will continue to be held annually to provide opportunities for sharing regional issues and possibilities through the achievements of students majoring in urban planning.
