[2025 Regular Admission Special] Dongguk University to Select 1,283 Students... Establishes Open Major Department Kim Hyo-gyu, Director of Admissions, Dongguk University

Dongguk University has newly established recruitment units and expanded the quota in advanced fields according to the broadening of recruitment units. The Open Major Department (Humanities and Natural Sciences) is a representative 'no-major' department, allowing students to choose any department except for some recruitment units after admission. The excluded departments are the College of Biosystems, College of Arts, College of Pharmacy, and College of Future Convergence. In the case of the College of Biosystems, it is a single college recruitment unit, and students can choose one major among the four affiliated departments. To nurture talents in advanced fields leading the 4th Industrial Revolution era, the College of Advanced Convergence's Department of System Semiconductor increased its recruitment quota by 7, selecting 26 students in Group C.

In the newly established Group C recruitment units, the Open Major Department (Humanities and Natural Sciences), College of Biosystems, Department of Physics, Department of Police Administration, and Department of System Semiconductor will be selected. A notable feature is that all no-major recruitment units select students 100% based on the CSAT in the Group C general admission.

In this regular admission, Dongguk University has abolished the restrictions on the CSAT subject areas and subjects, and will provide additional points according to the subjects taken in the natural sciences and the Department of Computer and AI (Humanities). The reflected areas for the natural sciences are Korean 25%, Mathematics 35%, English 15%, and Social Studies or Science Inquiry 25%. Applicants who took Social Studies can also apply, and the previous restriction allowing only those who took Calculus or Geometry in Mathematics to apply has been removed. Instead, additional points will be given by recruitment unit. The additional points system by recruitment unit is divided into four types, and 3% additional points are given according to the Mathematics and Inquiry subjects taken.

Except for the Department of Physical Education and Sculpture major, which reflect practical skills at 40%, all CSAT-focused admissions select students 100% based on the CSAT. The Humanities, Physical Education, and Film and Video departments reflect CSAT scores as Korean 35%, Mathematics 25%, English 15%, and Social Studies or Science Inquiry 25%. The Natural Sciences and Department of Computer and AI (Humanities) reflect Korean 25%, Mathematics 35%, English 15%, and Social Studies or Science Inquiry 25%. Regardless of the field, Korean History applies a point deduction system by grade. No deductions apply from grade 1 to 4, while grade 5 deducts 2 points, grade 6 deducts 4 points, grade 7 deducts 6 points, grade 8 deducts 8 points, and grade 9 deducts 10 points.

The application period for the regular admission is from 10 a.m. on the 31st of this month until 5 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
