Ahead of the world’s largest ICT convergence exhibition, ‘CES 2025 (Consumer Electronics Show 2025),’ Samjong KPMG has presented key trends.
CES is an annual event where cutting-edge technology companies and experts from around the world gather to highlight the latest technology trends and showcase innovative products. This year’s event, under the slogan ‘DIVE IN,’ will unveil various innovative technologies including AI (Artificial Intelligence), robotics, mobility, XR (Extended Reality), smart homes, and digital healthcare.
Samjong KPMG (Chairman Kim Gyo-tae) conducted an in-depth analysis of the six key trends and latest technology developments to watch at CES 2025 in its report titled ‘CES 2025 Preview: A Look Ahead at CES Trends.’
This CES is expected to feature participation from Korea’s leading technology companies such as Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, SK Telecom, and SK Hynix, who will announce various products incorporating advanced AI technologies like on-device AI.
The report identified the core trends of CES 2025 as ▲ AI & Robotics ▲ Mobility ▲ XR (Extended Reality) ▲ Smart Home ▲ Digital Healthcare ▲ ESG.
In the AI & Robotics sector, advanced AI technologies, diversification of devices, and on-device AI with high security performance are expected to attract attention. Particularly, ‘AI agent’ technology, which integrates AI into various products such as robots and home appliances to minimize user intervention while providing diverse functions, is anticipated to draw significant interest.
In the mobility sector, software-defined vehicle (SDV) technology centered on software, along with advancements in cameras and sensors, is expected to enable more effective data acquisition. Additionally, infotainment products that will revolutionize passenger convenience are also anticipated.
In the XR field, specialized XR devices for professionals that can be used across various industries, as well as XR applications in entertainment sectors such as gaming and sports, are gaining attention. Furthermore, innovative devices combining XR technology with AI and robotics will also be unveiled.
In the smart home sector, smart appliances, home robots, and safety systems combining AI and IoT technologies are signaling innovative changes. Personalized services that learn user lifestyle patterns and preferences to provide customized settings, along with integrated platforms enhancing interoperability between devices, are expected to be particularly noteworthy.
In digital healthcare, products utilizing AI to analyze complex medical data and advance precision medicine technologies are expected to stand out. The role of wearable devices that not only secure medical data but also improve treatment and daily convenience is also forecasted to expand significantly.
In the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) sector, as ESG strategy formulation and execution become essential management tasks for global companies, the concept of ‘Human Security’ aimed at the well-being and protection of humanity is expected to gain renewed attention at CES. Alongside this, rather than a rapid phase-out of fossil fuels, the trend of ‘Energy Transition’ focusing on carbon emission reduction and the rise of ‘Energy Tech’ are anticipated.
Samjong KPMG Technology Industry Leader, Deputy CEO Yeom Seung-hoon, stated, “While the previous CES demonstrated the potential of AI, CES 2025 will be a venue to present the practical application of AI technologies and business models.” He added, “We hope the report, which includes practical tips such as exhibition zone characteristics and navigation methods, will provide tangible help to companies.”
Meanwhile, Samjong KPMG plans to release a video for CES 2025 attendees on its official YouTube channel.
