Nubin Signs $100 Million Private Equity Investment Agreement with Government Employees Pension Service

Nubin Asset Management (hereinafter Nubin) announced on the 20th that it has signed a private equity investment delegation agreement worth 100 million USD with the Government Employees Pension Service (hereinafter GEP).

To further strengthen the global portfolio diversification, GEP selected Churchill Asset Management, a U.S.-based private equity specialist under Nubin, as the investment manager. Under this strategic agreement, Churchill Asset Management is expected to invest GEP's funds in U.S. junior capital and private equity (PE) solutions, contributing to the expansion of GEP's global investment portfolio.

Additionally, Nubin's parent company, the U.S. Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association (TIAA), and GEP signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) regarding a strategic partnership between the two institutions. Nubin plans to pursue cooperation measures including ▲providing educational programs ▲sharing investment knowledge and insights ▲networking with local institutions ▲and data sharing.

The signing ceremony took place at GEP's Sangnok Hall in Seoul, attended by key representatives from both sides. Mike Perry, Head of Nubin Global Client Group, stated, “Nubin and TIAA have always regarded the Korean market as strategically very important, and this agreement with GEP will be a significant opportunity for Nubin to further strengthen its presence in Korea and promote mutual benefits.”

Baek Joo-hyun, Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of the Government Employees Pension Service, said, “The signing of this memorandum of understanding holds strategic significance for the development of GEP. We expect to improve the portfolio management returns by leveraging Nubin’s investment expertise across its global network and to enhance GEP’s investment capabilities as a global investor.”

Jason Strife, Head of Junior Capital and PE Solutions at Churchill Asset Management, said, “The collaboration with GEP will be a great opportunity to demonstrate Churchill Asset Management’s capability to design customized investment strategies and provide differentiated capital and private equity fund solutions,” adding, “We are very honored to establish a partnership with GEP, which is globally recognized.”
