Operating 7 Community Sports Classes and 5 Clubs through Public Projects... Highest in Seoul
Supporting Various Disabled Sports Activation Projects... Achieved Overall Victory at 2024 Seoul Special City Disabled Sports Competition

The Jungnang-gu Disabled Sports Association (President Ryu Kyung-gi, Jungnang-gu Mayor) was selected for the highest grade, S grade, in the ‘2024 Autonomous District Disabled Sports Association Operation Evaluation’ conducted by the Seoul Metropolitan Disabled Sports Association this year.

This evaluation assesses the 22 autonomous district disabled sports associations in Seoul based on organizational management, project operation, and administrative management, assigning S, A, or B grades. The Jungnang-gu Disabled Sports Association proved its continuous contribution to the promotion of disabled sports by earning the S grade again this year following last year.

The district has promoted various projects to activate disabled sports. Through public contest projects, it operated seven community sports classes and five club groups, setting the record for the most operations within Seoul.

Additionally, it supported a wide range of activities such as survival swimming programs for disabled students, boccia, rafting, and community sports competitions.

Furthermore, through district-led projects, it operates aquatic exercise programs and community sports classes, contributing to leisure activities and health improvement for people with disabilities.

As a result of these efforts, the district achieved overall victory at the ‘2024 Seoul Metropolitan Disabled Community Sports Competition.’ Among approximately 5,000 participants from 25 autonomous districts in Seoul, a team of 165 athletes composed of both disabled and non-disabled individuals competed in a total of 19 events, achieving excellent results and earning the honor of overall champion.

Based on this evaluation result, the district will secure the highest level of budget for community sports classes and club support projects in 2025. Through this, it plans to further accelerate the expansion of disabled community sports programs and the realization of sports welfare.

Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, “Winning the overall championship at the Seoul Metropolitan Disabled Community Sports Competition and receiving the highest S grade in the autonomous district disabled sports association operation evaluation was possible thanks to the cooperation of the Jungnang-gu Disabled Sports Association and local residents.” He added, “We will continue to spare no effort in promoting sports and providing various support for the health and happy lives of people with disabilities.”
