On the 19th, Gumi City in Gyeongbuk held the '2024 Second Half Year Civil Service Commendation Ceremony for Municipal Development' at the city hall auditorium.

The commendations were awarded to 135 citizens and organizations who actively participated in municipal affairs and dedicated themselves to the local community with a strong sense of duty and volunteer spirit, serving as exemplary models. This event was organized to honor the recipients' contributions, express gratitude, and boost morale.

The civil service commendations for municipal development are held twice a year, in the first and second halves, with recipients including members of related institutions and organizations, volunteer groups, workers, and ordinary citizens. Honorees are selected for their contributions across various fields such as economy, culture, sports, arts, agriculture, environment, welfare, and Saemaul (New Village) initiatives, all contributing to the development of Gumi City.

Mayor Kim Jang-ho stated, “The service and sacrifice of the awardees have become a strong pillar for our society of coexistence,” and added, “We will continue innovation and new hope in 2025, so we ask for your ongoing interest and cooperation in municipal development.”
