The Busan Regional Veterans Affairs Office (Director Lee Nam-il) held the opening ceremony of the 140th Bobi House on the 17th at the home of Mr. Oh, a senior resident of Jung-gu, Busan, in collaboration with the Korea Electric Power Corporation Busan-Ulsan Headquarters (Head Lee Kyung-yoon).
Mr. Oh, a Vietnam War veteran, is 76 years old this year. His house was old, resulting in low residential satisfaction, and he especially experienced significant discomfort during the hot summer months.
Through the Community Chest of Korea, with sponsorship from the Korea Electric Power Corporation Busan-Ulsan Headquarters and donations from employees of the Busan Regional Veterans Affairs Office, support was provided for wallpapering and flooring replacement throughout the house, air conditioner installation, and lighting replacement.
Mr. Oh expressed his gratitude, saying, "Thanks to this, I think I will be able to spend next summer comfortably. I am truly thankful to the Korea Electric Power Corporation Busan-Ulsan Headquarters and the Busan Regional Veterans Affairs Office."
The Bobi House project is a specialized housing improvement initiative by the Busan Regional Veterans Affairs Office, which began in October 2007 and has now reached its 140th house. The Busan Regional Veterans Affairs Office plans to continue this effort to improve the housing environment for low-income elderly veteran families residing in Busan.
