Approximately 30% of Donations Invested to Provide Childcare Products Worth 200,000 Won
The effects of the ‘Hometown Love Donation System,’ introduced to contribute to regional development through individual donations, are becoming more pronounced.
Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province (Governor Seo Tae-won) announced on the 19th that it will implement the ‘Mom Comfortable Package Support Project’ starting February next year, utilizing funds raised through the Hometown Love Donation System. This project is being promoted to address the low birthrate issue within the region and to create a pregnancy-friendly environment by investing about 30% of the donation funds from the Hometown Love Donation System.
The ‘Mom Comfortable Package’ is a support kit worth approximately 200,000 KRW, designed to celebrate pregnancy and reduce childcare burdens. The package includes essential childcare items for pregnant women and newborns such as a contact thermometer, nursing cushion, nursing pads, temperature and humidity monitor, and wrist support.
The package application is open to all pregnant women who are registered residents of Gapyeong-gun as of the application date.
Governor Seo Tae-won said, “I am pleased to carry out a meaningful support project for pregnant women using the funds raised through the Hometown Love Donation System,” adding, “‘Mom Comfortable Package’ is part of Gapyeong-gun’s pregnancy-friendly resident welfare project to respond to the low birthrate, and it will also contribute to enhancing the pride of pregnant women.”
He continued, “I hope this package support project will be of even small help to pregnant families,” and expressed gratitude to donors, saying, “The Hometown Love Donation System is playing a positive role in regional development and welfare improvement.”
Gapyeong-gun plans to actively promote the ‘Mom Comfortable Package Support Project’ to enhance the value of the Hometown Love Donation System and encourage more donors to participate in regional development.
Meanwhile, the Hometown Love Donation System is a program that allows individuals to contribute to regional development by donating to areas other than their registered residence. Donors can receive a full tax credit up to 100,000 KRW and also receive thank-you gifts equivalent to 30% of the donation amount.
