The Guri City Commercial District Revitalization Foundation (Chairman Baek Kyung-hyun, hereinafter referred to as the Foundation) announced on the 19th that it held the ‘2024 Merchants Year-End Harmony Day’ on the 18th at the Foundation’s multipurpose room, with about 50 attendees including all merchant association organizations and merchants in the district, as well as officials from Guri City Hall.

This event was organized to share the Foundation’s business achievements of the year, provide guidance on projects planned for the next year, and to comfort and encourage the merchants for their hard work throughout the year of Gapjin.
Starting with the appointment ceremony of advisory committee members for the commercial district revitalization project, the Foundation shared achievements in four areas of its projects: ▲supporting 100 financial counseling sessions ▲supporting environmental improvements at 31 locations ▲advancing commercial district analysis and supporting digital education for merchants at 20 locations ▲road surface construction ▲Line 8 subway advertisements ▲and the establishment of the Waguri promotional center.
Following this, the direction of projects for 2025 and the expansion of support for environmental improvement projects were introduced. The event concluded in a warm and friendly atmosphere with a lucky ball raffle, where small gifts were shared.
A representative of the merchant association said, “At first, this kind of gathering felt unfamiliar, but as we encouraged each other comfortably without formality and shared opinions, it warmed our hearts. We hope that such gatherings will be held frequently in the future to promote active communication between merchants and the Foundation.”
Chairman Baek Kyung-hyun said, “The Foundation’s start as a comprehensive support center for small business owners, leveraging its professional experience in the commercial district renaissance project, was made possible with the great help of everyone here. Moving forward, we will listen even more closely to the opinions of merchants and work hard for the revival of Guri City’s commercial district.”
