Guri City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun) announced on the 19th that it was selected as an 'Excellent Institution' in the '2nd Gyeonggi-do Human Rights Administration Promotion Excellent Local Government Selection' project promoted by Gyeonggi Province on the 18th.
Gyeonggi Province evaluated 31 cities and counties in the province on four areas and 14 items related to the establishment of human rights administrative systems and policy implementation to promote human rights in local communities, selecting five excellent cities and counties for human rights administration promotion.
In particular, Guri City received high evaluations for conducting human rights education for its employees and actively discovering and promoting human rights policies in various fields such as persons with disabilities, youth, and the elderly based on its own human rights plan, contributing to the establishment of a human rights administrative system.
Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun of Guri City stated, “We will use the selection as an excellent institution for human rights administration promotion as a stepping stone to further efforts to guarantee the human rights of citizens,” and added, “We will do our best to spread a culture of respect for human rights in the local community.”
