This meeting was planned to share overall information, difficulties, and challenges regarding the activities of smoking cessation instructors this year, and to discuss the direction of activities for creating a smoke-free environment in 2025.

The Guri City Health Center conducts year-round inspections and guidance on 5,865 designated non-smoking areas, including public facilities, to prevent citizens from suffering from secondhand smoke.

In particular, it plans to strengthen inspections and guidance focusing on areas with frequent complaints and to promote various smoking cessation projects to create a tobacco-free environment.

Additionally, the health center operates a smoking cessation clinic that provides systematic management and support, including counseling and necessary supplies for citizens wishing to quit smoking, as well as a ‘Mobile Smoking Cessation Clinic’ for workers at workplaces who have difficulty visiting the health center.

Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun of Guri City said, “I thank the smoking cessation instructors who have done their best in guidance and inspections to protect citizens from the harms of smoking,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to create a healthy Guri free from tobacco smoke through active smoking cessation promotion, guidance, and inspections.”
