Mayor Lee Chung-woo: "We will do our best to ensure national veterans receive proper respect and compensation"
The Veterans Organizations Council of Yeoju City, Gyeonggi Province (President Kim Gisu) announced on the 19th that on the 18th, they held a ceremony at the Yeoju Veterans Hall to present a plaque of appreciation to Mayor Lee Chung-woo of Yeoju City in gratitude for his efforts to honor and improve the welfare of veterans and national merit recipients.

The ceremony was attended by the heads of eight veterans organizations in Yeoju City (Disabled Veterans Association, Bereaved Families of War Veterans Association, Widows of War Veterans Association, Meritorious Service Association, Korean War Veterans Association, Agent Orange Veterans Association, Vietnam War Veterans Association, Special Mission Meritorious Service Association). On behalf of the veterans organizations, Kim Gisu, head of the Disabled Veterans Association, presented the plaque.
While presenting the plaque, President Kim Gisu said, “Because the mayor shows great interest and support for national merit recipients, all members of the veterans organizations are very grateful. Although I am the one presenting this plaque today, it represents the heartfelt gratitude of the national merit recipients and their families.”
Mayor Lee Chung-woo said, “I sincerely honor the dedication and efforts of the national merit recipients for the country and its people. I believe the plaque of appreciation given today is a call to work even harder. I will continue to expand the honor and support for national merit recipients so that they receive the respect and compensation they deserve.”
