To ensure food safety and create a pleasant eating environment, the city conducted focused hygiene inspections over the past month targeting traditional markets and children’s preferred food cooking and sales businesses within the jurisdiction.
The main inspection items included ▲whether expired products were used ▲compliance with storage standards for ingredients and cooked foods ▲unsanitary food handling ▲sale of unreported products ▲health checkups and personal hygiene management of cooking workers ▲sale of foods detrimental to children’s emotional development, among others.
As a result of this inspection, most establishments were found to be making efforts in hygiene management; however, some places were found to have issues such as failure to meet hygiene standards, which were immediately corrected on-site and guided to comply with the Food Sanitation Act.
Jang Yeon-hee, Director of the Hygiene Division, stated, “We will continue to maintain ongoing interest in food safety and strengthen preemptive hygiene monitoring for the health of our citizens.”
