Damyang County, South Jeolla Province, announced on the 18th that an on-site inspection was conducted on the evening of the 17th to check the preparations for the successful hosting of the 6th Damyang Santa Festival.

The inspection was attended by County Governor Lee Byeongno, Santa Festival Promotion Committee Chairman Kim Haeun, senior officials, and about 70 heads of towns and villages. They checked the status of the landscape installations on Jungang-ro, discussed the street parade, opening ceremony procedures, and response measures in case of emergencies.

The 6th Damyang Santa Festival will be held on Jungang-ro for the first time this year to revitalize the local economy in the original downtown area of Jungang-ro, Damyang-eup, which has been in decline.

Under the theme "Jungang-ro 56, Invitation to Winter Magic," various efforts are being made to enhance the Santa Festival atmosphere, such as creating unique nighttime landscapes in different sections of Jungang-ro to provide visitors with a special experience.

On the day of the festival, a spectacular street parade will kick off the event, followed by an opening celebration performance (Ulala Session, Kim Dana, a cappella performance), as well as a variety of hands-on programs such as the Santa Campfire and Wish Tree.

The original downtown area will become a car-free street for two days, with preparations focused on minimizing inconvenience to residents and ensuring safety for both locals and tourists.

Governor Lee Byeongno emphasized, "We are preparing to welcome visitors with a variety of new and exciting programs on Jungang-ro, filled with the Christmas spirit," and added, "We will do our best in the remaining preparation period so that this festival can contribute to increasing the local resident population and revitalizing the regional economy."
