Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) announced on the 18th that it will conduct the "2025 New Year Practical Education for Farmers" from January 6 to 23, 2025, to improve farmers' agricultural skills and strengthen agricultural competitiveness in the new year.
This education program consists of a total of 9 courses and 15 sessions, and will be conducted for about 2,000 farmers at the Pocheon Agricultural Technology Center and local agricultural cooperatives.
The training covers various crop-specific cultivation techniques such as rice, chili peppers, apples, jujubes, soybeans, ginseng, and beneficial microorganisms, as well as pest and disease control and nutrient management, reflecting the demands of the agricultural field.
In particular, education on chili pepper cultivation techniques held over 4 sessions, apple cultivation and nutrient management training, and basic education on Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) certification, which have attracted great interest from farmers, will also be provided.
The detailed schedule includes GAP basic education and rice farming training on January 6, apple cultivation and physiological disorder prevention training on January 7, education on rice, chili peppers, jujubes, beneficial microorganisms, etc. from January 8 to 17, and crop education on soybeans, ginseng, grapes, and others from January 21 to 23.
