As Christmas and the year-end season approach, parents are rushing to buy gifts for their children, and the ‘Auroraping’ character products, which have gained explosive popularity among elementary school students, have already sold out and are being sold at high premiums. On open markets, prices have reached 100,000 to 200,000 KRW, making it a situation where “the price is whatever the seller asks.”

On the 18th, a notice was posted on the official store Emotion Castle homepage of SAMG Entertainment, the producer of the ‘Catch! Tinyping’ series, stating that the ‘Shooting Star Catch Tinyping Auroraping Castle House’ product is experiencing delayed restocking due to a surge in year-end orders. This was followed by an announcement that “due to limited stock, the purchase quantity is restricted to 2 units per transaction.” Among the Tinyping characters popular with young children, there are special ‘Legend Tinypings’ each season, and this season’s Legend Tinyping, Auroraping, included in this product, has caused a rush in Christmas gift demand, leading to a sold-out situation. Currently, the product is sold on the official store at a regular price of 50,000 KRW with a 20% discount, making it 39,900 KRW, but on some open markets, prices have soared up to the 200,000 KRW range.

Parents who intended to buy the Auroraping Castle House product as a Christmas gift for their children are frustrated. On various local online mom cafes, questions asking where stock is available are continuously being posted. One netizen wrote, “Even though it’s a ‘Pasanping’ (a term meaning expensive purchase), I can’t pay 270,000 KRW for a 39,900 KRW product, so I called all the nearby toy stores, but they said there’s no stock.” Another netizen expressed frustration, saying, “My child is begging for it, but I can’t find it anywhere.” Additionally, posts like “Buying Auroraping Castle House” and “My child is singing about wanting Auroraping, what should I do?” are flooding in.

In reviews of the Auroraping Castle House product, some complaints have been posted such as, “The age group that likes Tinyping is not yet old enough to just endure and laugh it off,” and “Parents are anxiously searching all day long. (Not being able to get the product) could bring despair to children who were looking forward to Christmas.”
